Flower Study III

Original pen drawing of a peony flower study on  cotton rag handmade paper with deckled edges from France (5" by 7").  Due to the handmade nature of these place cards, each card size, thickness and shape will vary. This paper was created using 100% natural materials in the loveliest mottled cream, white, and tan hues with variations of specks and flecks of fibres throughout. This was done intentionally to create visual texture. Artist signature on the front. 

This is a small flower study I completed.  My goal was to avoid using significant shading and detail, so that the paper's natural texture and peony's petals receive the most attention. 

There are no known cosmetic flaws on this piece.  I placed this drawing in the "Imperfect Art" collection because my personal style has evolved and outgrown floral pen drawings.
