This is a small flower study I completed this summer. My goal was to draw the peony flowers as accurately as possible in three minutes. Timing my drawings challenges me to focus on the essential elements of the study, rather than trying to create a perfect drawing. When finished drawing, I decided to tear the edges of the sulphite drawing paper to give it a raw edge to complement the shape of the peony flowers.
There is a small cosmetic flaw on this piece between the far right flower and leaf. It appears to be a faint gray mark that won't erase.
