The subject of this piece was a beautiful blush colored peony flower blooming in the springtime. The intention of the artist was for this to be a detailed, gentle artwork, with the feelings of blooming and new life.
This piece was illustrated on cotton rag handmade paper with deckled edges, so you will notice that the pen lines have natural texture that show through from the paper's grooves.

This paper was created using 100% natural materials in the loveliest mottled cream, white, and tan hues with variations of specks and flecks of fibres throughout. This was done intentionally to create visual texture.
